Simultaneous working on RAM could result in changes not being saved or being over-written with content added by another User.
To prevent loss of work and more than 1x User working on a RAM, RISKUL 'locks' the RAM.
The lock is applied once a change is made to the RAM and remains until the RAM is saved, changes discarded, or the RAM is 'unlocked' by Project Admin.
A system message is displayed when a RAM has been locked. Once locked, the RAM is read only.
If a User navigates away from a RAM without saving their changes a system prompt will display requesting the User save or discard their changes, if this prompt is ignored, and the User leaves the screen without saving, the RAM will be locked and Users will not be able to edit the content until the RAM is unlocked.
Once saved the 'lock' message will no longer be displayed, the RAM will update with the latest content and further edits can be applied.
Project Admins can unlock RAM if required, simply select the locked RAM, navigate to the RAM Worksheet and select 'Unlock'. The RAM will be unlocked but changes made by the User who locked the RAM will NOT be saved.
When a RAM is unlocked by Project Admin the original User who locked the RAM will not be able to further edit the RAM until they refresh their screen, this will update the RAM with any changes made by other Users since the unlock was applied.
A User can work on RISKUL from more than 1x computer. If changes are not saved the User will lock the RAM, and Project Admin will be required to unlock the RAM to allow for further editing.
To ensure that all content edited is retained it is important to frequently save work and to save before navigating away from a page that has been edited.
RAM locked by each User will display on the 'Locks' tab on the Workspace page. Project Admin will see a listing of all RAM locked by all Users on the 'Locks' tab. Only active projects will show 'locks', if a project completion date has passed 'locks' will not show however if the project completion date is extended 'locks' will show.
The following lock messages are be displayed in RISKUL, the table below explains the condition that has been met resulting in the lock message and how to remove the lock.

It is possible for the User to go back to the RAM on the original computer/browser and Save/Discard changes to remove the lock. If this option is not available or if the lock does not remove then Project Admin will be required to unlock the RAM.
